August 28, 2000 -- Boston Globe -- CAMPAIGNER GETS A SPEEDING TICKET IN CONN.

Jack E. Robinson, the Republican Senate hopeful, was ticketed in Greenwich, Conn., Friday night for driving nearly twice the speed limit, police said.

Robinson will contest the ticket, campaign manager Tom McCuin said yesterday. The candidate is scheduled to appear in Stamford Superior Court on Sept. 8.

Police stopped Robinson while he was driving about 62 miles per hour in a 2000 Cadillac DeVille on busy East Putnam Avenue, a major thoroughfare in Greenwich that has a speed limit of 35
miles per hour, Greenwich Police Sergeant Steve Carlo said. Robinson, 40, is challenging US Senator .......
